Leather

I love a high quality and functional, flat leather collar. But, I also believe high quality includes quality leather with finished edges and quality hardware.

My leather collars are made with either hand cut water buffalo leather or English Bridle leather. Leather edges are beveled and finished prior to assembling. And hardware is either stainless steel or solid brass.

Water Buffalo Leather

Water buffalo leather can have a wonderful pull up, vintage finish. It has a wonderful feel and sturdy, yet more flexible than English Bridle leather. The flesh side of the leather is smooth and consistent in color, so the collars look great from both sides.

English Bridle Leather

English Bridle leather is fully finished with a waxy feel and a beautiful sheen. After the vegetable tanning process, the leather is hot stuffed with oils and tallows that penetrate through the hides, giving the leather a smooth, rich cut. Due to the use of oils and waxes, this leather is more weather-resistant than the more common "latigo" leathers.
